Downtown Dubuque Banks Launch Fixed Rate Main Street Loan Pool Program for 2014
April 21, 2014
After successfully funding over 10 projects in 2013, four Dubuque banks have once again joined together to offer the Dubuque Main Street (DMS) Loan Pool program to downtown Dubuque commercial property owners, developers, and tenants.
American Trust & Savings Bank, Dubuque Bank & Trust, Premier Bank, and US Bank have each committed $750,000 to fund the program, for a total of $3 million for rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of downtown Dubuque's historic buildings.
The $3 million matches the 2013 initiative, the largest commitment to the DMS Loan Pool program to date. The 4.25 percent fixed-rate loan program is designed to be used to fund renovations to commercial properties located in one of Main Street's eight service districts.
Projects eligible for this incentive include façade and/or interior renovation, leaseholder improvements, and real estate acquisition with a commitment to "significant" interior and/or exterior renovations and improvements.
After several incarnations of the loan program, resulting in more than $9 million in commitments toward more than $50 million in downtown renovation projects, the financial community will again play a critical role in providing momentum to a sustainable Dubuque. DMS's goals include helping to fill vacant storefronts with appropriate businesses and residences, and encouraging repair or replacement of facades.
Interested parties may contact Dan LoBianco, Executive Director, at (563) 588-4400 or any commercial loan officer at any participating bank.
